Good luck replacing your Streaming Stick remote

My puppy ate my Streaming Stick remote. (Surely this is not an unusual event.) Waited for 30+ minutes to chat with customer service who said a new one could be had at a big box store. Visited Best Buy and Micro Computer Center - they'd never heard of replacement remote for Streaming Stick. Ordered one directly from Roku. The package was mislabelled and sent back to Roku. Roku insists it was my mistake but won't show me any proof. And it took customer service over 3 days to return each of my emails. Forget it - I'll try Amazon or Google.

I purchased a Belkin wireless router from best buy and two roku sticks only to get home to find that roku wouldn't let me access my account without my info what a joke so yea best buy and roku can take these sticks and stick them wherever.How greedy can you get I am absolutely pissed off and will never purchase anything again since I am not the only one this happened to. What a disgrace to be robbed by another country when our president is doing a fine job all by himself. I guess this is another example of corporate greed in America and it is shameful and all companies selling this roku product should be ashamed and we should all stand together and take them down.

Roku box for over 2 years and we have thoroughly enjoyed them we have 3 boxes in our house recently I want to say maybe since the month of December I have been receiving an error with the video. I decided to google it. One of the first two options were tech support for roku or at least what I thought was tech support. When I dial the number the person simply said you were having an issue with your device and we're here to help you may I give you a call back, are you able to get to a computer. So I did they gave me a website and then asked me to pay a one-time $149 fee to eliminate any more attempts to access my network. The gave me some nonsense about a user accessing my system some 700 miles away. This is a scam!!! Don't not give them access to your computer. The person speaking to me was from India . Do not call 877- 927-****!!!!!!!!

Roku - Streaming Stick Review from Monroe, Michigan

The roku is a piece of ***. Ill try to go into netflix and an error happens, even though everything is connected to my wifi then the roku will glitch everytime i try to fix it by going to the roku screen. This happens about 10 times a day and it *** me off, getting a roku was one of the biggest mistakes ever, a waste of money!

Problems with technical support

I have 2 Rokus and have had minor problems with it. Now am having the same problem on both. It has been happening now for about 6 weeks on and off. Right now its more an ongoing daily problem. Last week I spent 6 hours with their support. Would think it was fixed but not and had to call back 4 times. Now it is happening several times a day. I called last night and asked for the Supervisor's Supervisor who was the person who first got it working. told me he was on another call and would call me back in 30 minutes. He actually did which surprised me as when they need to research a problem and tell you they will call you back at a certain time the next day they never do. He started troubleshooting which I had already done. about 40 minutes into the call we got disconnected without resolving the issues. You would think he would call me back but I sat and waited and now 12 hours later have not heard a word. This is not professional and is quite rude.

Yes my complaints are mostly about there customer service or lack of customer service. It's going on a month that this started.

I got 1 call back I missed by someone I could not understand there name and left no number or extension.

And I get this same annoying email saying their, there to help me. and that's all I get.

Isn't this ridiculous. I don't know about you but I even purchased their extended warranty on the equipment plus phone support.

What a joke!!!!

And now months later still having same problems. I do have to say that 2 weeks ago they did replace the one unit as it completely died.

Beware charge for customer support

Do NOT buy a Roku. I was having difficulty setting up my Roku. First, it was very difficult to get someone on the customer support line. I was kept on hold for more than 30 minutes. When I finally was able to reach a so-called support person, Roku's customer service did not solve the problem and referred me to the manufacturer of my TV. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that my credit card had been charged $19.99 for this call. During the completely unhelpful conversation with Roku customer service they never made me aware that my credit card would be charged for this call. There are alternatives to this service. Do not buy a Roku.

Roku sucks

Worked fine at home, but on the road, it couldn't connect to the hotel's wi fi. Customer support kept me on hold for 45 MINUTES. Then had me dance through "press home 5 times, fast forward 1 time, press play 1 time, press fast forward 1 time" etc.. While I was doing that, they bumped me off and told me to hold for another 50 minutes!!! Are these people nuts; or just from India and that's why they use chat instead of telephone for support? I tried their telephone support, but my arm got tired being on hold for 20 minutes waiting for someone to answer

Roku sucks yes. It is a money machine.

Everything about it is designed to get money out of you. Even YouTube only lets you watch what makes them money. There is no free, no matter what their scam advertising says.

As a matter of fact, the same goes for smart TV and smart phones. The only thing smart is how they get in your pocket.

Roku is the biggest little piece of ***

this was a big hassle to setup i had to change the wireless network setting to the very least secure then they require a credit card to make it work. credit card required to activate it and lousy wireless settings i dont want to share anything after all this bull if it is unplugged then it wont work again and i dont know why tried the reset button that does nothing. when it did work (only once) i was not impressed where was the free tv they claim? the only free tv was basically links to free news and sites like youtube and other media sites worse they choose what they want you to watch i felt like i was in north korea when hooked to it. roku3=crapbox the few things that are free are things you alredy get on the internet 95% of roku content is pay 1.99 to 18.99 to watch a movie roku is a gimmick in my opinion it is also my opinion that it is faulty.

Worst customer service

Roku's customer service is completely incompetent, they're products don't work properly and they won't exchange their faulty products. I talked to Steven and his incompetent supervisor Navi. They wanted me to buy a new tv to support their product… How can you tell me I'm wrong and try to tell me you won't give me a roku box because your *** HDMI roku plug needs more energy to get service so you need to plug multiple plug into this one small HDMI source. I'm so furious after talking to both of them for 2 hours. They also won't let you get off the line until you yell at them.

Son got for me for Christmas and it keep freezing this is got to be the worst gadget got everything called the online for help stayed on the line almost in half an hour wait for them to tell me all I have to do is keep taking the batteries out into keep unplugging it I have the Apple TV and is nothing like thisThe reason I wanted this was because it had drama fever the Korean soap operas that I watchsome people said that the roku 3 is good all I know is that this one that I have does not work anybody have any of the suggestions or how I may be able to get this went to work I have unplugged it put new batteries in it and it's still freezing

History Channel app worked a week ago

Now, its no longer an option for Comcast customers. I know it's your cable or satellite provider that provides access to apps such as History Channel, and HBOGO, but frankly, if Roku, after taking hundreds of million of dollars from consumers, can't secure deals DIRECTLY with these networks, and must rely on this ridiculous by proxy delivery model, than perhaps it's a dead business model... This box is worthless to me now... Now, its no longer an option for Comcast customers. Roku streaming stick: garbage!

Bought this gadget for my son, since the store was sold out of Amazon Fire TV boxes, which we have and LOVE. Anyway, this stick has yet to work, with directions followed precisely. Turns out that Roku is having major server issues, so connecting to them is a longshot at best. No content will load, it moves at a glacial pace, has an outdated and buggy interface and yes...they have the gall to demand a credit card on file! It's out of my realm of understanding as to how Roku has received such stellar customer reviews, especially eith other devices competing for business. Our Fire TV was working right out of the box, with tons of content on demand. We have ditched satellite TV in lieu of streaming media, and until Roku wrecked our day, it has been a pleasant transition. The device freezes, intermittently reboots and reverts back to factory defaults without us even touching it. It's going back to target today, because like others here, customer service is literally unreachable. Never again!!
