Purchased a channel on Roku. Had to pay a full year in advance.

After 5 months, the channel shut off and is not asking me for another full year's payment. Called Roku, they sent me to the channel.

The channel, sent me back to Roku. Called tech support, they don't know anything, they escalated to billing and won't let me talk to billing.

Yep I had the same problem and I was told it's my problem not there's and I wasted money on purchasing a product I can't use properly. I had to repeatedly say hello after asking the customer service guy a question.

He clearly was more interested in doing something else then helping me get my payment option in place. Five days later still now payment option in place and was told Everytime I call customer service my account is charged 9.99. so I'm basically being penalized for needing help with there company regarding there product. Sad wish I had never made the mistake of getting this *** from Roku.

But as long as I don't have a payment option on my account they can't rip me off lol but I'm stuck watching low quality programs I've never heard off before that take 15 mins to load and crash half way though.

They won't be getting one more penny from me. I'm in search of another product now so if anyone has a recommendation it would be awesome to hear them.

Short Review on June 25, 2016

Constant issues with it going back to "loading", comes back on for 15 seconds back to loading for 40 and on and on. And my wireless internet connection is excellent! This is annoying as heck!!

I cannot even to begin to explain what horrible customer service Roku has. I have been on the phone now for 3 hours going round and round with people I can hardly understand . Their solution to my problem was so ridiculous that I honestly think I'm on candid camera or the show pranked.

Terrible Customer Service

I've been a Roku customer since the first version came out, but my recent "customer service" experience was so terrible I'm starting to rethink my streaming device choice. As I travel a lot, I was trying to get my Roku to work in the hotel. After hours of trying to get assistance through chat, the phone customer service agent and then the manager, I finally gave up. I never was able to get it to work and was extremely annoyed by the inept (and yet still condescending) customer service agents. When I provided information on what happened to their customer support feedback, they clearly didn't look up my incidents (I provided all of the numbers) and tried to call me during a work day. They then sent an email saying they were trying to reach me to get my Roku working in the hotel. (The incidents were from 2 weeks ago and if they're read the email they would see I was no longer in the hotel and had decided to give up on trying to use that functionality.)

Roku 3 Streaming Media Player Review from Irvington, New Jersey

We have a Roku Stick and a Roku 3. Both cause us constant heartburn, either not connecting to the internet or not connecting to the remotes. We have had the Roku 3 for about 3 years and it has been unable to connect to the internet or gets to that *** 25% loading screen and then tells me it cannot play this title right now. The stick was our solution to the shitmaster our Roku 3 turned into, and that is an even bigger nightmare. The remote has to be paired multiple times, the tv has to be turned off and on, over and over to gain an internet connection and it is awful. I have called/chatted with their customer support in India and they have provided me a bandaid fix that works for a week or two then it all goes to *** again. We can not even use it when we have people over because it is always such a pain in the *** struggle. The only reason we have put up with these this long is because 1) we paid over $130 for these P.O.S devices 2) it is the only streaming device that has WWE Network. As soon as it is available on something else, these will be thrown in the trash.

Online chat, rep. from support department

I spent a good share of my afternoon with online chat and another part with the support depart. The 800 number. Online chat rep.: Couldn't provide me with a solution to why my device wasn't working properly. Finale results was "Did I know that Roku was having internet problems and within a minute I was disconnected from that service and I could not get back on to the chat line. I called the 800 number for customer support and had to explain my situation and what was told to me by the rep. from the chat line. This rep. snickered at that. With this "arrogant rep." He made me feel like a ***! Thank you SIR!!!! I would highly suggest that Roku survey their reps. after each call and online chat. THANK YOU

If you have the Roku stick, throw it away and get a Roku 3 instead. Then, check your internet and router connections. Sounds like you have a signal problem.

Brand new Roku2 would not connect to wifi. Error MSG said it was network. Spent an hour with Comcast to no avail. They said it was a Roku problem. Called Roku and they said it was a Comcast problem. Roku said it could be fixed for $199 for a year. I said no and he said they have a $149 year plan. When I tried another reset, they hung up. Roku gets returned tomorrow

Roku's money back guarantee is a hoax.

Purchased a Roku device with the understanding I could get my money back if it didn't work. It doesn't work as advertised . . . it claims to be able to stream live feeds from sources like Fox News . . . it can't. However, when you want to simply return it they claim its an issue with their distributor, not them, so its just kind "too bad for you". I've been around and around with Amazon, Roku, and their distributor who's company name is Sheths. Sheths is the front company they use as the people who refuse to accept the return. Roku is the company that writes up the false description of the product and their "money back guarantee" that their distributor refuses to honor so its not Roku's fault because you used their distributor that their website sends you to when you place your order. Just remember they lie about their ability to stream a live feed and they lie about their willingness to accept returns. Just saying Beware.

Finally got my money back but it was from Amazon. Not Roku or their distributor, Sheths.

Since Amazon was in the loop they finally stood up and did what they were supposed to. On top of all of it, when I did want to return the device Sheths wanted ME to pay the shipping since they weren't going to be able to sell the product as brand new . . .

unbelievable! Needless to say I made them send me a prepaid label if they wanted to see it returned.

Remot pairing and u pairing on Romulo stick

The pairing button does nothing and remote will not worke followed 5 procedures in website junk I have 5 roku sticks they all suck remote issues constantly factory reset takes hours then the remote stops working again and you have to start over if you want to spend your days off of work fixing stuff over and over again pairing and unsparing and setting up accounts over and over on the same device then this thing is for you my friend even at minimum wage roku owes me about five grand for fixing these things over and over remote pairing issues re set up twice today

Ordered movie all we get is black screen after first 2 minutes of picture

I ordered Hard Eight on Sunday 4-3. Movie started played two minutes. Then screen went black. Sound continued. Called Roku and Fandango go....was left on hold both places for 20 minutes then message came on telling me they could not help at this time. To leave my Name and Phone #. I called again Monday at 12 and at 5...left on hold for 15 minutes got same message. These people just do not care...Stil not response from anyone....no refund for the movie. Also tried the live chat.....no response on it either...I'm all out of words. You will have to make due with my 89 words.

What's fee?

Have google chrome much cheaper and can stream free tv from phone. Just down load ABC, NBC , etc and you stream shows. Don't buy this I it is awful and huge rip off there is nothing free. I signed up for free stations like ABC ETC and each one seems to charge you for a season or show. Don't buy it.cant find one station that doesn't cost something. Either that or it's so difficult to use the average guy can't figure it out. Oh yea you can't turn it off other than un plugging it. Yes there is no on/off switch
